“These Cost is a satirical piece on the fact that a beautiful woman has never paid for a drink in her life. It came about because of a comment made in a bar one night when I was attempting to get the attention of a bartender and I got overlooked. When the woman received her drink the bartender told her the price and she looked at him strangely. She looked over at me as if I was going to pay for it and asked “these cost?” It was at that time that another man stepped in and paid for her drink.
