"For the theme of this year's celebration, Pope John-Paul II looked to images of salvation from the Sermon on the Mount, in the Gospel According to Saint Matthew. To the Young people of the world he said 'You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world' It is a message of optimism and hope.
